Brooklyn Team Members Recognized at 1st Annual Racquet Ceremony

On December 17th, 21 CitySquash Brooklyn team members from PS163 were recognized for earning their very own squash racquet and bag. The ceremony was a culmination of their hard work in the program since they joined last February. Since then, they have accrued over 100 hours on court. Parents, siblings, mentors, and Brooklyn board members were in attendance to celebrate the students’ accomplishment. Each student was individually recognized with a short commendation highlighting their contributions to the team on and off the court. 12 of the team members were excited to bring their racquets to Urban Team Nationals in Boston this past weekend, where many of them competed in their first squash tournament. Congratulations to the 21 Brooklyn team members who reached this exciting milestone!

CitySquash Welcomes Nineteen New Team Members

CitySquash's New Third Grade Class

On December 18th, CitySquash families, friends, mentors and staff gathered at MS 45 for the 11th Annual CitySquash Talent Show. The Talent Show is a highlight of the year for CitySquashers, not only because students get to show off their abilities outside the classroom and the court but also because we welcome a new group of team members to the organization. This year, six sixth graders and thirteen third graders joined the CitySquash team after three months of tryouts. A combined 151 students tried out for these spots at the third and sixth grade levels! In addition to celebrating the new CitySquashers, the talent show showcases our students’ artistic talents. Fourth graders through twelfth graders performed songs and choreographed dances, and were treated to a song and dance performance by the CitySquash staff. It was a great celebration of our students’ talents, and thank you to all who came out!
