Sanford founded CitySquash in 2002. A strong believer in the enrichment program model pioneered by CitySquash’s sister programs in Roxbury and Harlem, Sanford works closely with the CitySquash staff and Board to improve the breadth and scope of organization. Sanford received his B.A. from George Washington University in 1973, a Ph.D. in Sociology from Catholic University in 1983, and an M.S.W. degree from Fordham University in 2005. A resident of White Plains, New York, Sanford is the President of Research Horizons, a marketing research firm, and previously held executive positions at other marketing research firms, including Market Facts, Elrick and Lavidge, Quick Test and Westat. Sanford has his own clinical practice and is a Board member of FJC – a foundation of donor advised funds. An avid squash player since the mid-1980’s, Sanford claims that he is still learning how to play the game.
